The Convention on Biological Diversity is planning a revision of its Global Strategy for Plant Conservation and will define its policy in an upcoming workshop in Ireland.

To prepare the decisions, the CBD is organising an online consultation until April 30, 2009. EDIT strongly encourages taxonomists to make their voices heard in this consultation by clicking here and answering the CBD survey. CBD decisions have a huge impact on global arrangements and legislation under which taxonomists work. We need to actively shape these decisions if we wish them to benefit fundamental science.
